First known as the Commercial Hotel, today's Hobby Horse Arms has had a unique and interesting past. It was the favourite stopover of drummers (travelling salesmen) and they would set up displays in the downstairs area that is now The Pub. Moved from its original location to Main Street in 1981, restoration of the building began in 1983 and when the doors opened the old Commercial Hotel lived on as the Hobby Horse Arms. The atmosphere is tradition Scottish Pub and Chef Sommers has earned quite a local reputation for her takes on Chicken Pot Pie and Steak, Mushroom and Guinness Pie. The menu also reflects a modern mood with everything from Wraps to Pasta and Burgers. And talk about a selection of Scotch! |
